Magic Kingdom (Monday)

Well, I know I have been slacking on my posts - I've been reading "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" in my free time instead of blogging - now I've finished it, and I think I will wait until the cruise (or at least, the drive to the cruise) to start the next book.

On Monday, Grant, Geoff, and I went to The Magic Kingdom. It was pouring when we got there, and Geoff had just fallen asleep, so we let him finish his nap and we waited out the storm.

We had parked at the Polynesian again, so we took the monorail to the parks. It was a nice day, weather-wise, because it stayed overcast and relatively cool all day. We road the train all around the park, and then Grant rode Splash Mountain while Geoff and I played in the Winnie the Pooh playground. There was a kid there who was a terror! He kept pushing kids out of his way down the slide. He was, maybe, 3 years old. I never saw the adult that was supervising him. He pushed Geoff out of the way several times. Once, Geoff was waiting at the top of the slide and this kid walked up the slide and then proceeded to hit Geoff in the face! I walked over, took his hand, and said, "Don't hit. That's not nice." I expected, at this point, to be yelled at by the brats mom - but no adult appeared! I still didn't know who was supposed to be watching him by the time we left!

Anyways, next, I rode on Big Thunder Mountain while Grant and Geoff headed over to Toon Town to play in the park there. I met them there and watched Geoff play happily for awhile. Then we headed over to Tomorrowland and watched the Carousel of Progress, the Peple Mover, and then Buzz Lightyear. By the way, I like the Buzz ride better in Florida, but the game play is far superior in California. Finally, we rode Pirates of the Caribbean before leaving the park at around 7:30.

We swung by the house and picked up Danny, and then headed to the airport to pick up Mom and Bobby!

We needed to exchange our rental van. The one that we had, well, had issues. Every time you opened the back tail gate, it jerked open with a repeating loud thunk, thunk, thunk. About half the time when you opened the side door, it would open all the way and then close right away. Freakin crazy. Worst of all, it was getting like 13 miles per gallon.

Danny and Grant exchanged the van while Geoff and I went to meet Mom and Bobby at the baggage claim. Our timing was perfect. We couldn't have been there 5 minutes when Mom and Bobby came down the escalator. There bags were already on the carousel, so we grabbed them, met Danny and Grant at the rental car pick up, and we were on our way! We stopped at Steak and Shake for dinner and then headed home.
