Monday - Skagway

Yeah, its now October, but this really needed to be finished! OOOOPs!

So, we got off of the ship and roamed around the adorable city of Skagway. Cute in every way except for one complaint. They should really make the main street PEDESTRIAN ONLY!!! With so many ships in town and all the people, the sidewalks were so overly crowded, but you couldn't go in the street because of bisses and cars.

Seriously Skagway people.

SO whilst doing some shopping, we ran across this courtyard that was like a vortex of moderness, but not. You are walking down this cute little street with all of these old, beautiful buildings into a cute little courtyard - that happens to be a wireless hotspot, as evidenced by the 2o or so people lounging about the area with their laptops open.

In this same little courtyard we found a lady selling cookies and trailmix and candy and other snacks who happened to be going out of business... so we got hooked up with all sorts of snackins super cheap!

At noon we went and took the Whitepass and Yukon Railroad. It was an absolutly beautiful trip! We saw (and went over) some cool bridges, and saw some waterfalls... very cool!

After the train trip we went back in town to do a bit more shopping before getting back on the ship. Dinner was delicious, as usual, but I'll spare you the details!

After dinner, we saw the production show, "City of Dreams," which was very good. Then we headed over to the COlony Club to watch Rock - a Rockie, which is sort of like Karaoke, except that you are backed by a live band... wha??? So no one is signing up, so Bobby G gets up there and sings, "The Joker."

SO what do I do? I sign up....!!! What? I have neve sung karaoke in public in my life, but the chance to actually sing with a live band, well, I could not resist!

So, I sang "I saw him standing there," and I have no idea how I did becasue the band was so loud that I could not hear myself, but it totally rocked.

Totally. Rocked.
