Here's what I got -
Cruise
Saturday, April 16
Today we boarded the Norwegian Star. We got on board at about 2:30 and quickly stopped at our rooms. Grant, Geo and I have a great cabin on deck eight. It has an obstructed view window, and it is wheelchair accessible, so it has lots of room. Danny is down the hall in an inside cabin. Mom and bobby are on deck 10 in a balcony cabin, it is smaller then most other cruise lines, but has a small loveseat. Gary, Donna, and heather are sharing a junior suite, but he junior suites on this ship are the size of he regular balcony cabins we are used to on carnival or royal.
We went up to the buffet for a quick lunch before the muster drill, then we went up on deck for the sailaway.
Next we tried to put Geo down for a nap, but that took awhile, so he didn't actually fall asleep until 6. He napped until 7:30. Meanwhile, I ran up to sign him up for the kids club.
When geoff woke up, we went to the main dining room for dinner. There was a 30 min wait for aqua, the main dining room, so we decided to just do the buffet since Geo was a fussy butt. Good thing because they didn't actually page us for an hour!
NCL has some nice kids facilities. There is a kids buffet, and low tables nearby for the kids to sit at.
After dinner, we took Geo to the kids club. They wisked him away pretty quickly so I was a bit nervous about not saying goodbye. I made the classic mom mistake and went back to check on him. He didn't see me, but the counselor said he was crying, so I signed him out. In retrospect, I don't know if he would have warmed up or if they would have just paged us, but it was pretty late and he was tired. There is a huge jungle gym in there that he wanted to play in so that may also be why he was crying- it wasn't opened yet. But we will try again!
Mom, bobby, and danny took Geo for a walk so grant and I could unpack. Then we put him to bed. I haven't heard a peep from him all night! He is tired! I went to bed when he did- I was tired too!
Sunday April 17
Today was our first sea day. Geoff slept like a rock last night. When he woke up, we went to breakfast/lunch in the buffet. We tried ti sign Geo into the kids club, but he wanted nothing of it. They were having the under two zoo right next door, so we played for awhile with the toys together.
We walked around a bit, then we put Geo down for a nap. Grant stayed while I went out and walked around the ship, listening to the newly released Glee warbler album and finding my way around. I also started reading "the time travelers wife. "
We had dinner at LaCucina, which was delicious. Then we went to see the show - a production show with 70s music.
I put Geo to bed and grant went out to watch the hypnotist and enjoy the 24 hour resteraunt with mom, bobby, and danny!
